Parent Appreciation Day
Dear Mom,
Today, I want to pause for a moment and express words that often get lost in the rush of everyday life. Words that deserve to be spoken more often than they are.
Thank you, Mom.
Thank you from the deepest part of my heart for every sacrifice you have made, every prayer you have whispered, every tear you have shed, and every burden you have silently carried for our sake. There are not enough words in any language to fully express what you mean to me, but today I want to try.
From the very beginning of my life, you have been my greatest blessing. Before I ever saw the world, you carried me in your womb. After I entered this world, you never stopped carrying me in your heart. Through every stage of my life—my childhood, my struggles, my victories, my mistakes, and my dreams—you have remained my constant source of love, encouragement, and strength.
A mother's love is often described as unconditional, but your love goes even beyond that. It is sacrificial. It is selfless. It is relentless.
You have always placed our needs above your own. While many people think about themselves first, you have consistently chosen us. You gave up comfort so we could be comfortable. You sacrificed your own dreams so we could pursue ours. You stayed awake through countless nights worrying about our future while we slept peacefully, unaware of the battles you were fighting for us.
One of the greatest gifts you have given us is not something money could ever buy.
It is your prayers.
Mom, you are a true warrior in the place of prayer.
You don't simply pray because it is a routine or a religious obligation. You pray because you genuinely believe that God holds our lives in His hands. You fast for us. You intercede for us. You cry out to God on our behalf with a passion that only a loving mother can understand.
Sometimes I wonder how many battles I never had to fight because you fought them in prayer before they ever reached me.
How many doors opened because you prayed.
How many dangers were avoided because you prayed.
How many disappointments became testimonies because you prayed.
How many times God's mercy covered us because a faithful mother refused to stop calling upon His name.
Your prayers have been a shield around our lives.
There is a spiritual strength that follows the prayers of a righteous mother. I have experienced it. I have witnessed it. I have seen impossible situations turn around. I have watched obstacles disappear. I have seen hope return when everything seemed lost.
That is why I firmly believe that much of where we are today is not solely due to our hard work, intelligence, or determination. It is because heaven has continually responded to the prayers of a mother who refuses to give up on her children.
One memory that has always stayed with me is how you can never truly rest whenever one of us is traveling.
No matter how late it is.
No matter how tired you are.
No matter how many times we tell you not to worry.
You remain awake until you hear those precious words:
"Mom, we've arrived safely."
Only then do you finally breathe.
Only then do you allow yourself to rest.
That kind of love cannot be measured.
It cannot be purchased.
It cannot even be fully explained.
It is the kind of love God placed in a mother's heart—a love that continues to protect her children long after they have grown into adults.
Your concern for us has never been based on convenience.
It has always been rooted in genuine, unconditional love.
Even when we are far away, we are never far from your heart.
Every achievement we celebrate carries fingerprints of your sacrifices.
Every milestone we reach reflects years of your encouragement.
Every success story we write has chapters that were authored by your prayers.
Behind every confident child often stands a praying mother.
Behind every successful son or daughter is usually someone who believed in them before the world did.
That someone has always been you.
I admire your strength.
Not because life has always been easy for you.
But because even when life became difficult, you chose faith instead of fear.
You chose hope instead of despair.
You chose forgiveness over bitterness.
You chose prayer over panic.
You chose love over anger.
You taught us that true strength is not measured by how loudly someone speaks, but by how faithfully they stand when life becomes difficult.
You have shown us what integrity looks like.
You have shown us what resilience looks like.
You have shown us what unwavering faith looks like.
You have shown us that serving God is not simply something we say—it is something we live every single day.
As I grow older, I appreciate your sacrifices even more.
There were many things I didn't understand when I was younger.
Today I understand them.
I understand why you corrected us.
I understand why you worried.
I understand why you insisted on discipline.
I understand why you never stopped praying.
Everything you did came from love.
Your greatest desire has never been for us to become wealthy.
It has been for us to become good people.
People who fear God.
People who walk with integrity.
People who remember where they came from.
People who make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Those values continue to guide me every day.
If I were given all the wealth in the world, it still would not equal what you have invested in my life.
No amount of money could repay your sleepless nights.
No gift could fully express my gratitude for your sacrifices.
No words could ever completely express my gratitude.
But I can make one promise.
I promise to live a life that honors your sacrifices.
I promise to make choices that reflect the values you taught me.
I promise to continue walking the path that your prayers have helped prepare before me.
I promise to make you proud—not merely through success, but through the kind of person I become.
Most importantly, I pray that God blesses you abundantly.
May He reward every silent sacrifice you made.
May He answer every prayer you still pray for us.
May He strengthen your body, fill your heart with peace, surround you with joy, and grant you many more years of health, happiness, and fulfillment.
You have spent your life pouring into others.
My prayer is that heaven pours back into you beyond anything you could ever imagine.
Mom, thank you for loving us when we were difficult to love.
Thank you for believing in us when we doubted ourselves.
Thank you for encouraging us when we wanted to quit.
Thank you for correcting us when we needed direction.
Thank you for teaching us to trust God.
Thank you for being our greatest cheerleader, our strongest prayer warrior, our safest place, and one of God's greatest gifts to our family.
I love you more than words can ever fully express.
Every day, I thank God for choosing you to be my mother.
And if I had the opportunity to choose again, in every lifetime, I would choose you.
Forever grateful. Forever thankful. Forever your child.
